Yesterday morning, while walking to Heathmont Farmers Market, my boyfriend’s mother and I found fruiting plum trees lining the railway tracks. After collecting a $2 box of strawberries, sourdough bread, various vegetables and stopping by the local primary school to raid their mint bush, we proceeded back to the trees, armed with spare plastic bags. I then spent the remainder of the day making twenty-one jars of two kinds of plum jam.
